Overview
About this Spot
Vazon Beach is a surf spot located in Channel Islands, United Kingdom. This beach is situated directly below the northern end of the surfers carpark at Vazon. It generally requires a relatively good sized swell to start working effectively. The beach predominantly consists of slow right-hand waves that break over the sand bottom at the northern end of Vazon Bay. The behavior of the waves varies significantly depending on the tide. At low tide, Vazon Beach features steeper and more powerful waves, which tend to close-out. Conversely, during mid to high tide, when the tide is pushing in, the waves produce better shape, offering fun right-hand walls that extend to the inside. However, this comes at the expense of power, as the waves become slow and weak during this phase. On larger tides, the backwash from the seawall can render the beach unsurfable. The atmosphere at Vazon Beach is generally laid back, although it can become crowded on weekends and during summer holidays. An increasing number of longboarders can make catching a wave a bit of a challenge. The surf spot is suitable for beginners, as the waves are not overly powerful, but it is essential to assess your skill level against the difficulty of the waves before entering the water. The length of the waves at Vazon Beach is less than 50 meters, and the surf quality is often described as sloppy. The crowd typically consists of a few surfers, making it a relatively less busy spot compared to others. Nearby surf spots include Vazon Reef, T’Others, Vazon Centres, Perelle Left, and Perelle Right. Vazon Beach can occasionally provide good conditions, making it a cool place to hang out during the summer. It is important to check surf etiquette when surfing in crowded spots, as this promotes a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone. Lastly, respect the locals.
