The waves at Windmills provide both left and right directions, making it accessible for surfers of all skill levels. The bottom is sandy, and the ideal tide for surfing is medium. The wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters, offering a decent ride for those who venture here. Windmills is often less crowded, providing a more relaxed surfing experience compared to other popular spots. The water is crystal clear, and the waves can be quite hollow, attracting both local surfers and professionals. Access to Windmills is similar to reaching the nearby Lighthouse; from Dunsborough, head towards the Lighthouse and turn left onto a gravel road before reaching it. At the fork, take the left turn to reach Windmills. The area is known for its natural beauty, but be prepared for a long walk and the presence of flies.
