About this Spot
Broadbeach is a surf spot located in Queensland, Australia. The spot provides both left and right waves, making it suitable for surfers of all levels. The bottom is sandy, and the best conditions are at medium and high tide. The wave quality is considered a regional classic, with a regular frequency and a wave length ranging from 50 to 150 meters. Broadbeach is known for its fun waves on small days, but it can pack a punch with heavy shore breaks on bigger days. It’s advisable to go early before the wind picks up for the best experience. The beach is long and sandy, and you can reach it by turning off the Gold Coast Highway at the Bel Air Resort, going east past a roundabout, and then heading straight until you see a primary school and a car park. From there, follow the path to the beach. The spot is relatively empty, but it’s important to respect the locals and check the surf etiquette when the spot is crowded. Additionally, be aware of rips, undertow, and the presence of sharks, although the area is shark protected. Nearby surf spots include Mermaid Beach, Surfers Paradise, Narrow Neck, Seminyak Wedge, and North Burleigh. Always check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. Respect the locals.
