About this Spot

Boiling Pot is a surf spot located in Queensland, Australia, within the Noosa National Park. This spot is known for its right-hand waves that break over a sand and rock bottom. It is a regional classic that can be surfed at all tides, making it a versatile option for surfers. The wave quality is good, and it sometimes breaks, attracting a crowd, especially longboarders. The take-off is hollow and reels off the rocks for about 300 meters. On smaller waves, it ends at a big rock, but on larger waves, it can connect all the way to Noosa Beach. Surfers are advised to be cautious when taking off, as the rocks are unforgiving, and there is little room for error. If you fall, it’s best to punch through the back of the wave to avoid getting cut on the rocks. The spot is shark protected, adding a layer of safety for surfers. Parking can be challenging as the carpark gets packed, so it’s advisable to arrive early. The spot is suitable for surfers of all levels, but it’s important to check your skills before paddling out to ensure the conditions match your surfing level. Nearby surf spots include Little Cove, Noosa First Point, T-Tree Bay, The Groin, and Noosa Groyne. Noosa Heads is a popular holiday destination, and the Noosa National Park offers a great environment for families. The area is accessible by driving to the end of the road at Noosa National Park, where the footpath starts. Respect the locals, and always check the surf etiquette when the spot is crowded.
