About this Spot
Agnes Water is a surf spot located in Queensland, Australia. This spot is known for its right-hand waves and features a sandy and rocky bottom. The best time to surf here is during medium to high tide. The quality of the waves is considered regional classic, making it suitable for surfers of all levels. The waves sometimes break, offering a length of 50 to 150 meters. The crowd is usually sparse, so you can enjoy the waves without too much competition. Nearby surf spots include The Springs, Tannum Sands, Moore Park Beach, Bundaberg, and Nielsen’s Beach. The main beach is a 10-minute walk from the town, and it’s the best place to catch a wave when the swell is less than 1 meter. For larger swells, it’s advisable to stay at the point near the main beach. The Town of 1770 is a 10-minute drive up the peninsula from Agnes Water, and the tip of the peninsula offers excellent waves when the swell is greater than 1.5 meters, though caution is advised due to underwater rocks. Agnes Water is situated halfway between Bundaberg and Gladstone, about 2.5 hours north of Fraser Island. Accommodation options include a backpacker place next to the main shops at the roundabout. When you’re not surfing, you can enjoy excellent fishing in the area.
