About this Spot

Lakouvardos is a surf spot located on the Aegean Coast of Greece. This spot is known for its sandy bottom and provides both left and right waves, making it accessible for surfers of all levels. The wave quality is considered normal, and the spot sometimes breaks with waves that are less than 50 meters in length. The crowd is typically sparse, so you can enjoy the waves without much competition. However, be aware of the powerful waves in the center of the beach, which can create strong rips and undertow. It’s important to check the surf forecast and report before heading out, as conditions can vary. The beach is situated about four hours from Athens, near the village of Kiparisia. After passing Agia Kiriaki, you turn right, and after 5 kilometers, you should look for a sign to Lakouvardos Beach. While the area is beautiful, if you’re seeking great waves, you might consider heading to Preveza instead. Remember to check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. Also, be mindful of surf etiquette, especially in crowded spots. Respect the locals.
