About this Spot

Chorefto is a surf spot located on the Aegean Coast of Greece. This spot is known for its sandy bottom and provides both left and right waves, making it accessible to surfers of all levels. The wave quality is generally considered sloppy, and it sometimes breaks, with wave lengths typically less than 50 meters. While it may not be the top surf destination in Greece, it can be a fun spot, especially when the swell is too small for nearby Agios Ioannis. The main beach can get crowded during the summer months, so it’s important to respect the locals and adhere to surf etiquette. The spot is relatively empty compared to other locations, but it’s always wise to check your skills before paddling out to ensure the conditions match your surfing level. Chorefto is located about an hour’s drive from Volos, and the break can be found at the ‘nudist’ beach just north of the village. Although there is a semi-point break at the southern end of the main beach near the harbor, it hasn’t been surfed in many years. The spot used to be good with eastern swells. While Chorefto might not be ideal for a dedicated surf trip, it can offer a decent session if you’re in the area. Remember to check the surf forecast and report before heading out, and consider using a map or webcam for real-time conditions. Respect the locals.
