About this Spot

Dreamland is a surf spot located in Bali, Indonesia. The spot provides both left and right waves. It’s situated on the Bukit Peninsula, known for its white sands and clear turquoise waters. The surf breaks over a combination of coral reef and sand. Dreamland works best during low and medium tides, suitable for intermediate surfers. Wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters. The spot typically has few surfers, but it’s important to respect locals and follow surf etiquette when it’s crowded. Check your skills before paddling out to ensure the spot matches your level. Dreamland is in the same bay as Bingin and Impossibles. Nearby spots include Balangan, Padang Padang, and Uluwatu. To reach Dreamland, drive along Jalan Uluwatu towards Uluwatu Beach. About 3 km before Uluwatu, there’s a large entrance on the right. Follow the road signs towards the sea, paying a small fee to enter. The beach is also known as New Kuta Beach and was formerly called Cimongka by the Balinese. It became popular with surfers in the 1980s when simple warungs and inns were built. In 1995, the area was bought for development, leading to changes in the beach’s character. Despite development, Dreamland remains open to the public. The best time to surf is during the dry season from April to October. The spot offers various waves suitable for different skill levels. Beginners can enjoy smaller inside waves, while advanced surfers can challenge themselves on the main peak. Remember to check surf forecasts and reports before your visit. A surf map or webcam can provide real-time conditions. Always be aware of submerged rocks, especially during low tide.
