About this Spot

Namotu Lefts is a surf spot located in Fiji and Islands, Fiji. The spot sits just east of Namotu Island Resort in the Mamanuca Islands. The bottom is made of coral reef, so be careful when paddling out and surfing. The wave is a left-hand reef break and is considered a regional classic. The length of the ride is usually between 150 and 300 meters. The surf here is very consistent, and the best conditions are found at medium to high tide. Swell size can range from 2 to 15 feet, and the spot works well for shortboards, longboards, fish, and stand-up paddleboards. The spot is also popular with kitesurfers and windsurfers, especially when the southeast trade winds create side-offshore conditions. Access is mainly by boat, but if you are staying at Namotu Island Resort, you can paddle out directly. If you are coming from Plantation Island, you need to surf at dawn and leave the reef when surfers from Namotu Island arrive, then move to Wilkes. The paddle out can take more than 20 minutes if you are not using a boat. The crowd is usually light, but always respect the locals, especially when the spot gets busy. Check the surf etiquette and make sure you are following the rules in the water. The reef is sharp, and there can be strong currents, especially at low tide, so be aware of the conditions. Check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and the conditions match your level. Nearby surf spots include Wilkes Passage, Canoes, Swimming Pools, Restaurants, and Cloudbreak. For the latest surf forecast, report, map, and webcam, check reliable sources before heading out. There are no alternative names or main peaks listed for this spot.
