Maddalenedda

Left-hander braking on the side of Isolotto della Maddalena at the center of the bay of Alghero. Starts working only with big west swells of at least 5 or 6 feet. Being in the middle of the bay, there can be some boat traffic. Usually surfed by windsurfers and SUPs. Requires a long paddle to reach the peak from the beach. The best swell directions for this spot are south, southwest, west, and northwest, while the optimal wind directions are northeast and east. Not for beginners.
