It sometimes breaks, with wave lengths less than 50m. Sea Island’s surf conditions are inconsistent and lack a specific seasonal pattern. The waves are best during incoming to high tide, with surf heights ranging from knee-high to head-high. The ideal swell direction is from the east, and the preferred wind directions are from the northwest. While some rip rap rocks may be present in the lineup, the bottom is primarily sandy. Parking is limited, and the crowd factor is generally mellow. The best seasons for surfing are late summer, early fall, and early spring. To access the spot, you might need to navigate through the Sea Island Hotel area. It’s advisable to park near the bridge before reaching the island.
