The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The bottom is sharp coral reef, so wearing water shoes is recommended. Cloud Nine is best suited for intermediate and advanced surfers, and the wave length is usually less than 50 meters. The spot works best at high tide and is considered a world-class surf location. The area can get crowded, especially during peak season from September to November, when the annual Siargao Cup surfing competition takes place and waves can reach 8 to 12 feet. Jacking Horse is about a 300-meter paddle away and offers gentler waves for beginners.
