About this Spot
Triangulo is a surf spot located in Lima, Peru, in the Barranco district, close to the Regatta Club and near other surf spots like Ala Moana, Regatas, Caplina, Barranquito, and La Herradura. The spot is accessed by exiting the Circuito de Playas after a large concrete convention building. If you drive a 4×4 vehicle, you can go straight ahead, otherwise, follow the car tracks to the right. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The bottom is sandy, and the wave height usually ranges from 0.5m to 2m, with a length of less than 50 meters. The spot is generally empty, but always respect the locals, especially when the spot is crowded, and check the surf etiquette. Triangulo is considered a regional classic and is suitable for all levels, but it is not recommended for first-timers. Check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The best surf conditions are usually found in autumn, especially in March, when a southwest swell meets offshore winds from the east. There are no strong currents, and the area is known for a relaxed atmosphere, but be careful with theft, especially in summer. The spot does not have sharp rocks underneath, but sometimes there are boulders, so pay attention to the forecast and report before heading out. Pollution can be an issue, so check the latest surf report and webcam for current conditions. There is no specific seasonal pattern for the waves, and the spot is less crowded compared to other places in Lima. Always check the map for directions and parking options before your session.
