The spot is suitable for all levels, but it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and the conditions match your level. The frequency of surfable waves is regular, and the crowd is usually few surfers, but it can get busier when the surf is up. The surf spot provides right waves. The best conditions are during the summer months, especially when the wind is offshore from the east-northeast. Conchitas is more often affected by groundswells than windswells, with the ideal swell direction coming from the northwest. If you see the waves breaking after they pass the boulder (el espigon), the swell is very small and it may not be worth getting in. Don’t worry about the rocks if the spot is breaking well, you usually won’t feel them. There are restaurants on the beach, but don’t leave your things unattended as they may get lost. Respect the locals, especially when the spot is crowded, and always check the surf etiquette. The area can have sea urchins, so be careful when entering and exiting the water.
