Aserradores is a surf spot located in Northwest, Nicaragua, in the municipality of El Viejo, Chinandega department. The spot is known for its black volcanic sand beaches and the main surf break called The Boom. The surf here is consistent, with powerful and hollow waves that can reach heights from one to three meters, especially between April and September. The best time to surf is early in the day during medium and high tides, as the wind usually turns onshore in the afternoon. The bottom is sandy, and the spot is suitable for intermediate surfers. The surf spot provides both left and right waves. The length of the ride is usually less than 50 meters. The area is not crowded, so you can expect to surf with only a few other people in the water. Nearby surf spots include Poneloya Beach Las Penitas, The Finca, Puerto Sandino, Suicides, and Pipes. Access to The Boom is easiest if you stay at Chancletas Beach Resort, which is a short walk from the break, but you can also get there by 4×4 or motorcycle if you are staying elsewhere. The local surf community is active, and events like the Chancletas Boom Classic are held here. When the spot gets busy, respect the locals and always check the surf etiquette.
