Overview
About this Spot
Mirleft is a surf spot located in South Morocco, in the Sidi Ifni Province, about 140 kilometers south of Agadir. The spot sits between the Anti-Atlas mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, with ocher-colored cliffs. The bottom is a mix of sand and rocks, and the spot is exposed to rips, undertow, and some pollution. There are also rocks, sea urchins, and man-made hazards like buoys, so be careful when entering and exiting the water. The surf here is very consistent, with waves breaking for less than 50 meters. The spot provides both left and right waves. The best swell comes from the west, northwest, and north, with a minimum swell height of 2 feet needed for decent waves. The best wind direction is from the east, southeast, or south. The spot works best at medium tide. Mirleft is suitable for all levels, but beginners should stick to the smaller days and check which peaks are safest before paddling out. Boards that work here include beginner boards, softboards, shortboards, mid and retro boards, and longboards. The crowd is moderate, so respect the locals and always check the surf etiquette, especially when the spot is busy. Check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. There are not many other surf options nearby, and the nearest decent point break is a long drive away. Parking is available right next to the beach, and there are cafes close by where you can relax after your session. Nearby surf spots include Sidi Ifni, Sidi Moussa d’Aglou, Sidi Rbat, Tifnit, and Marhina. The area is also known for fishing and has a mild climate with agriculture in the surroundings.
