Blueys Beach is a surf spot located in New South Wales, Australia. This beach is part of the Pacific Palms area and stretches for 900 meters, flanked by headlands on either end. The beach is backed by hilly slopes filled with vegetation and can only be accessed by foot, adding to its secluded charm. Known for its powerful undercurrents and high swells, Blueys Beach is considered the best surf beach in the area, offering consistent swell for advanced and knowledgeable surfers. The waves break both left and right, making it suitable for surfers of all levels, though it’s important to check your skills before paddling out to ensure the conditions match your surfing level. The bottom is sandy, and the spot works on all tides, though the quality of the waves is often described as sloppy. The beach is not patrolled, and while few drownings have been recorded, it is extremely dangerous, with regular rescues due to the strong rips and undertow. The crowd is generally sparse, but it’s crucial to respect the locals and be aware of localism, as tensions can arise. Sharks are present in the area, so caution is advised. Nearby surf spots include Boomerang Beach, Elizabeth Beach, and the Blueys Beach Wedge, each offering their own unique surfing experiences. Blueys Beach is approximately 25 kilometers from Forster/Tuncurry, and it’s easy to find by heading into Pacific Palms. Parking is available at the north end of the beach.
