About this Spot

Port Geograph Bay is a surf spot located in South West Australia, Australia. This spot is characterized by its sandy bottom and provides both left and right waves. It is known for its sloppy wave quality and is suitable for beginners due to its manageable conditions. The waves here are relatively short, with a length of less than 50 meters, and the spot is rarely crowded, offering an empty lineup most of the time. However, it is important to note that the spot rarely breaks, so checking the surf forecast is essential before planning a trip. The surf spot is located near other spots such as Secret Beach, West Busso Point, Port Geographe Busseton, Peppi Beach Reef, and Copeys Left. When surfing at Port Geograph Bay, it is advisable to use a fish board between 5’6″ to 6’0″ for a quick ride if the waves are breaking. Surfers should be cautious of man-made dangers such as buoys and be aware of the presence of sharks in the area. To reach the spot, you can drive into Busselton and head to the big jetty; on the right side of the jetty, you will notice a smaller jetty where you can find a two-footer wave halfway up. Always check the surf etiquette when surfing crowded spots and assess your skills before paddling out to ensure the spot and conditions match your surfing level. Respect the locals.
