The waves at Middleton Beach are very consistent, with lengths ranging from 50 to 150 meters. The area is known for having few surfers, so crowds are generally not an issue. Nearby surf spots include Goolwa, Middleton Point, Bashams Bommie, Frenchies, and Chicken Run. Middleton Beach is known for its rips and undertow, and there are rocks present in the area. Localism can be a factor, and there is a presence of sharks, so surfers should be cautious. The spot can be underrated or overrated depending on the conditions. On clean days, the waves can be quite good, especially if you paddle out to the back where the waves roll through.
