About this Spot

Ventana is a surf spot located in Central, Chile, in the Valparaíso Region, about 30 minutes north of Viña del Mar, between Quintero and Horcon, and close to the town of Puchuncaví. The area is known as Las Ventanas, which means ‘The Windows,’ named after natural rock formations along the beach. The surf spot sits in an industrial zone and features a sandy bottom, with waves breaking at all tides. The spot is considered a regional classic and is known for being very consistent, offering surfable conditions for most of the year. The length of the ride ranges from 50 to 150 meters. Ventana has four main peaks: Muelle Chico left and right, which are suitable for beginners, and Pilotes Point, which is more challenging and suited for experienced surfers. The spot provides both left and right waves. Pollution and man-made dangers like buoys are present, so pay attention to your surroundings. The crowd is usually light, but when the spot gets busy, respect the locals and always follow surf etiquette. Check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The area is close to other surf spots like El Claron, Cau Cau, Punta Liles, Puntilla Sanfuentes, and Ritoque. For surf forecast, report, map, and webcam information, check reliable sources before heading out. There is a tourist information kiosk on Pedro Aldunate Street in Las Ventanas for details on accommodations and local services. Always be aware of the industrial activity in the area and the potential for pollution. Remember to check the difficulty of each peak and choose the one that matches your experience. Stay safe and respect the spot.
