Green Ball

Green Ball is a surf spot located in Bali, Indonesia. The spot provides right left waves. It’s also known as Green Bowl Beach and is situated on the southern coast of Bali. The surf break at Green Ball is a reef break with a coral bottom, suitable for intermediate surfers. The waves can range from 50 to 150 meters in length. Green Ball is known for its regular wave frequency and is considered a regional classic in terms of quality. The spot typically has medium tide conditions. One of the notable features of Green Ball is its relatively uncrowded nature, often described as empty. Surfers should be aware of potential rips and undertow, as well as the presence of rocks. There’s a deep water right followed by a bowl just before the channel. Green Ball picks up the same swell as Nusa Dua. To access the spot, turn left before reaching the entrance of the Bali Cliff Hotel when coming from Nyang-Nyang. From the parking area, walk down to the beach. Nearby surf spots include Nusa Dua, Bingin, Dreamland, Jimbaran, and Impossibles. It’s important to check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. When the spot is crowded, remember to respect the locals and follow proper surf etiquette. The beach itself features a small stretch of white sand bordered by lush green cliffs, with natural caves along the shoreline providing shade. Accessing the beach requires descending about 500 steep steps down a cliffside, which can be challenging, especially after a surf session. This effort contributes to the spot’s relatively uncrowded nature. Surfers should be cautious of the strong currents and shallow reef. The optimal conditions occur with swells from the south to southwest and offshore winds from the west to northwest, with mid tide generally being the best time to surf here. The wet season, from October to April, typically offers more favorable conditions for surfing at Green Ball.
