Overview
About this Spot
Natadola Beach is a surf spot located in Fiji and Islands, Fiji. The beach itself does not have surfable waves, but on either side of the beach there are reefs that offer both left and right waves. The bottom is a mix of sand and rocks. The rides here are relatively short and the reefs can be super shallow, especially at low tide, so always check the tide and conditions before heading out. The spot is suitable for all levels, but it is important to check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. The inner reef has a gentle shore break over sandy rocks, which can be good for beginners and bodyboarders. The outer reef, sometimes called Resort Lefts, is more challenging and is best during high tide with a southwest swell. The length of the ride is usually less than 50 meters. The surf at Natadola Beach is most consistent in the autumn months, especially in April, when clean, surfable waves are present about 67% of the time. There is no need for a boat to access the waves here, which makes it a good option if you are on a budget. You can get to Natadola Beach by public bus from Nadi or by driving along Queens Rd and turning onto Maro Rd, following the signs and asking locals if needed. There are no signs directly to the surf spot, but locals are friendly and can help with directions. The area is undergoing some development, so the surroundings may change over time. Nearby surf spots include Natadola Reef, Mini Cloudbreak, Sigatoka Rivermouth, Cloudbreak, and Restaurants. Always respect the locals, especially when the spot is crowded, and check the surf etiquette. For the latest surf forecast, report, map, and webcam, check reliable surf resources before you go.
