Overview
About this Spot
Jambu Beach is a surf spot located in Java, Indonesia. The spot provides both left and right waves. It’s situated in Banten, on a 200-meter stretch of sandy beach with a rock wall on the southern end and reef on the northern end. The surf here is influenced by east to northeast winds, with optimal swells coming from the southwest to west. Jambu Beach performs best on a chart swell of 2.5 SW and higher, with the more westerly direction being preferable. The sand banks shift with seasonal tidal flows, potentially producing lefts off the rock wall, rights and lefts from a center bank, or rights off a bank on the northern end of the beach. The spot is very susceptible to tides, potentially working well off banks for an hour before becoming too full on a highish tide or closing out on low tide with a big swell. It tends to close out on a decent swell but can offer fun waves on 2 to 3 meters of chart swell on the right tide. Surfers should be aware of potential hazards such as rips, undertow, and pollution. The spot is suitable for beginners, but it’s important to check your skills before paddling out to ensure the conditions match your level. Jambu Beach is often less crowded, described as having a great atmosphere with friendly and welcoming locals. It’s considered a laid-back location that can provide a fun wave on a good day. The spot is easily accessible, located just off the main road from Anyer to Carita, about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Jakarta via the Merak Toll road and exit to Anyer. Parking is available right at the beach for a small fee. Nearby surf spots include Pasauran Muara, Pasauran, Sanghyang Island, Tanjung Lesung, and National Park. Remember to respect the locals and check the surf etiquette, especially if the spot gets crowded. For up-to-date information, consider checking surf forecasts, reports, and maps before your visit.
