About this Spot
Rockside Induruwa is a surf spot located in Southwest, Sri Lanka, in the Bentota area. The spot is found near the Sea Turtle Farm, and you can park your car there before heading from the river to the beach. The surf spot has a bottom made of both sand and rocks, so be careful of sharp rocks in the water. The spot provides both left and right waves. The best surf conditions are usually during the winter season, especially in February, when clean and surfable waves are more common. The ideal setup is a southwest swell with offshore winds from the east-northeast. The sea temperature is around 28.7°C, making the water comfortable for surfing. The wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters, and the spot works best at low tide. The surf here is regular, and the area is often empty, so you might find yourself surfing alone. There is a big rock on the left side of the spot, and the current usually moves away from this rock to the north. The area is easy to find, and the beach is lined with palm trees. Nearby surf spots include Bentota, North Jetty Hikkaduwa, Benny’s, Coral Garden, and Hikkaduwa. The spot is recommended for intermediate surfers, so check your skills before paddling out, be sure that the spot matches your level. Always check the surf report, forecast, and map before heading out, and use a webcam if available to see the current conditions. Respect the locals, especially when the spot gets crowded, and always follow surf etiquette to keep things friendly in the water. Make sure to check the difficulty of the spot and the conditions before entering the water.
