Madiha Right is a surf spot located in Southwest, Sri Lanka, in the Matara district about 3 kilometers south of Polhena. The spot provides both left and right waves. The bottom is a mix of coral reef, sand, and rock. The wave length ranges from 50 to 150 meters. The surf here is very consistent, especially from November to May, with the most reliable conditions between November and January. During the off-season from May to September, the surf forecast and report may show less reliable conditions, but good waves can still happen. The spot is best for intermediate and pro surfers. The waves are fast and steep, allowing for maneuvers like re-entries, floaters, airs, snaps, and cutbacks. Barrels are less common but can occur. The area is generally free from significant hazards. Access is via Galle Road; from the main bus station, head south and take the first right to reach the beach. Free parking is available near the spot. The water temperature is warm year-round, averaging around 29°C, so wetsuits are not needed. Surf schools and equipment rentals are available nearby, and there are local rest houses and guesthouses for accommodation. The spot can get crowded during peak season, with about 15-30 surfers in the water. When the spot is crowded, respect the locals and always check the surf etiquette.
