Overview
About this Spot
Brasilito is a surf spot located in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, on the Pacific coast. The spot sits near the village of Brasilito and is close to other surf locations like Flamingo Point, El Estero, Pico Grande, Playa Grande, and Tamarindo. The beach has a sand bottom and the waves break over all tides, making it accessible for surfers at any time. The surf here is regular, with wave lengths ranging from 50 to 150 meters. The spot is known for having few surfers in the water, so crowds are usually not an issue, but when it does get busy, respect the locals and always check the surf etiquette. The surf spot provides left waves. The waves at Brasilito are generally easy and suitable for all levels, so beginners and experienced surfers can both enjoy the conditions. Before paddling out, check your skills to make sure the spot and the current conditions fit your surfing level. The area is easy to find: if you are staying at Paradisus Playa Conchal, you can walk out to the beach, turn right, go over a small hill, and the spot is there. From the town of Brasilito, head to the beach and walk south for about 10 minutes. Access is straightforward, and a 4×4 vehicle is not required. The beach is also known for calm waters, and while it is not the most famous surf destination in Costa Rica, it offers a relaxed surfing experience. Amenities like restaurants and accommodations such as Hotel Brasilito, Cabinas Ojos Azules, and Quinta Esencia are nearby. For surf forecast, report, map, and webcam information, check local surf resources before heading out. Always be aware of the presence of sharks in the area. The spot is about an hour from Liberia’s international airport and can be reached by car, taxi, or bike.
