Overview
About this Spot
Ladies Beach is a surf spot located in Leinster, Ireland. The spot features an a-frame wave direction and has a mixed bottom consisting of sand and rocks. The surf conditions are typically suitable for all levels of surfers, though it is important to assess your skill level against the difficulty of the waves before entering the water. The waves at Ladies Beach are less than 50 meters in length and can sometimes break, making it a less frequented spot with a generally empty crowd. The best surf conditions occur during medium to high tides. The main peaks include a right point at the southern end and a longer, more powerful left at the northern end, which is peakier and may be better suited for longboards or fish due to its characteristics. Surfing here may not be ideal for shortboards as the waves are not fast enough or steep enough for that type of board. It is recommended to park at the hotel in Donabate and walk north along the coast path for about five minutes to reach the beach. The surf experience at Ladies Beach can be affected by rips and undertow, which should be taken into consideration. Nearby surf spots include Donabate Beach, Tower Bay, Killiney Bay, Dunany Bay Beach, and Silverstrand. Swell and wind directions can vary, so checking the surf forecast, report, and webcam prior to visiting is advisable. Respect the locals and always check surf etiquette, especially when surfing crowded spots.
