Tower Bay

Tower Bay is a surf spot located in Leinster, Ireland. This spot features an a-frame wave direction and has a combination of sand and rocks on the sea bottom. The wave quality is considered normal, and it typically breaks at low and medium tides. The surf experience required here is intermediate, making it unsuitable for beginners. The wave length is less than 50 meters, and the spot is known for having strong rips and undertow, which can make conditions challenging. The left wave is long and fast, while the right is shorter and can be dodgy as it finishes in shallow rocky water. It is advised to exit the wave before reaching the cliffs on the left side. Tower Bay is not crowded, providing surfers with an opportunity to enjoy the waves without heavy competition. To reach Tower Bay, follow the road through Portrane until you reach the car park, which is located directly in front of the wave. Nearby surf spots include Ladies Beach, Donabate Beach, Killiney Bay, Dunany Bay Beach, and Silverstrand.
