Overview
About this Spot
Surf Club Reef is a surf spot located in New South Wales, Australia. Situated near Coogee Beach, this spot is known for its right-hand waves breaking over a coral reef and sand bottom. The wave quality is considered a regional classic, suitable for intermediate surfers. The reef can sometimes be challenging due to rips and undertows, so it’s important to check your skills before paddling out to ensure the conditions match your surfing level. The wave length is typically less than 50 meters, and the spot can get a little crowded on good days, especially with younger surfers after school hours. Access to the reef requires a paddle of more than 20 minutes or a boat ride. It’s located just south of Coogee Beach, near an ocean pool and a surf club. While the spot is generally fun and harmless on a good day, it can be more slabby on smaller days. Nearby surf spots include Coogee, Coogee Reef, Coogee Bombie, Honeycombe, and Bronte Reef. When surfing at crowded spots, it’s crucial to check the surf etiquette. Respect the locals.
