Overview
About this Spot
The Boot is a surf spot located in New South Wales, Australia. This spot is known for its rocky bottom and right-hand wave direction, making it a regional classic for intermediate surfers. The Boot offers a heavy, quality wave that can become quite challenging when the swell picks up. When the surf gets big, it breaks out at the back rock, creating a thick lip that can be quite intense. The wave length is typically less than 50 meters, and it is known to spit at 2 feet. Despite its intensity, The Boot is relatively uncrowded, providing surfers with an opportunity to enjoy the waves without the hassle of large crowds. Access to the spot is straightforward; you can drive to Bondi Beach, follow the coastal walk, and find it just below the first big turn into Tamarama. From there, you can walk down and jump off the rocks to reach the surf. The Boot is located directly opposite Ben Buckler, with nearby spots including Tamarama, Tama Reef, South Bondi, Bondi Beach, and North Bondi. Surfers should be aware of the presence of rocks and sharks in the area. It’s important to check your skills before paddling out to make sure the spot and conditions fit your surfing level. Additionally, always check the surf etiquette when surfing crowded spots. Respect the locals.
